newsletter...

built a newsletter and will be sending it out with all booked weddings. it'll be an html email that i've been working on. it'll be sent out quarterly or when there's an update for everyone to read, such as terms and conditions updates. still working on some other things with it as far as having other people sign up to recieve it that haven't booked a wedding. should be pretty cool. working on some online ideas and specials that can be sent out as well via email.
this is all something that i was looking at last year, but never got around to. really looking forward to the bridal showcase at the mac on january 10. got a lot to do still, but just about ready. gonna have a specail front page on the site and lots of show specials.

Village Pointe Holiday Lighting

Here's a few photos from the tree lighting last friday. Was a great event and more people were out this year than I've ever seen before.

added a new vendor

added a new vendor on the weddings page today...roses for you out of grand island, ne. they also have the chocolate fountain rentals there, so added that link on as well. some updates are coming in the next month and preping for the bridal show in january. planning on an update for the terms and conditions within the next month to include signed contracts and placing deposits without a signed contract. so plenty of things in the works. only two weddings left for the year right now, so i'll be writting a year end report for the business on here with all the fun stats of how things went.

some fixes and not just for the camera

working on fixing my knee. trying to make the best of it, but it hurts a lot. hard to describe, but in downtown omaha at the gene leahy mall, there's blocks of concrete that create a path over the water near the west side. well, as i was getting ready for a shot while doing a portrait shoot....i fell in the water. hit the concrete hard and hurt my knee pretty bad. my 70-200mm lens tore from my camera and rolled into the water. my phone was dipped into the water, so gonna have to replace that as well. sending the camera off for repairs tomorrow. ordered a new lens that will be here wednesday. hoping to get the camera fixed and back soon.

Here's what's left of the lens. Cost $70 to get it off the camera, but the camera was ok. Bought a new 80-200f/2.8 nikon lens

second photographer option coming in 2010

i've been training my finacee holly to shoot weddings lately and in 2010 a second photographer option will be added for anyone requesting additional coverage at their wedding. pricing will be 1 1/2 time the total wedding package so for an unlimited with an addtional photograher will cost $1350 as oposed to $900 for just me. as always, the option can be added or subtracted at anytime before the date of the wedding. so something for those booking weddings for next year....

Terms and Conditions Update

updated the terms and conditions again today following another cancelled wedding for this saturday. cancelation time has been pushed back to three weeks now, instead of two for the full balace due. also sent out an email to anyone that has booked a wedding and that i do not have a signed contract from. please please please get those to me as soon as possible. as always, if there are any questions or you need clarification on anything, please contact me. this one for this weekend never let me know that they went with someone else until i email them today.
